A walk among the wealthy neighborhoods of Coronado Island is a true delight! Here you'll be immersed in the tropical scents of flowering trees and vines. There's so much green! The architecture of the houses is lovely, each house having its own style. Glimpses of the blue harbor will catch your eye. This is perfection!
Start at Hotel del Coronado or Coronado town and explore the neighborhood around Adella Ave. With each new street you take, you can't go wrong! For a rest, sit at the little park with bench overlooking the harbor at Glorietta Blvd where it meets Ynez Place.
Check out the houses and their gardens full of flowers along all the side streets that lead back to Orange Ave, such as 9th Street and 5th Street. Star Park Circle has a house with an incredible garden- an archway that blooms with roses and long flower beds full of spring flowers- on the corner at Loma Ave.
Also, walk along Isabella Ave. When you are near the beach, you will see the Baby Del, a wonderful Victorian house in pristine condition. It was built in 1887.
While on Coronado, don't miss out on the sublime Centennial Park at the far northern end of Orange Ave with its view of the city skyline that is amazing at night. From there, walk 1.1 miles along the Bayshore Bikeway which leads along the water from Centennial Park past the Coronado Ferry Center shops, past Coronado Tidelands Park (playground, exercise stations, sculptures, skatepark), to a view under the Coronado Bridge.
Explore the streets around Adella Ave, on Coronado Island.
