Hotel del Coronado, or "The Del," isn't quite as enchanting in real life as it is in the photos- there are some buildings around it that you don't see in the photos. The beach has lovely, fine white sand but it is often overcast or downright foggy. The boardwalk along the beach is nice for a walk. It's interesting to stroll around the resort and read the exhibits about the happening days of the 1920s. The red turrets above and flowers everywhere make for a pretty stroll.

A good place to eat at the hotel is Eno's Market and Pizzeria, where you can pay at the counter and then take your food and eat it outside at the tables.
The best part of a visit here is a walk around the streets north-east of the hotel. The mansions, tropical flowers, and views of the harbor will fill you with joy. Check out the Baby Del, a Victorian house on Isabella Ave, near the beach. What a delight!
Also fun is Coronado Town and its cafes and bakeries along Orange Ave, plus its Star Park and Rotary Park with their upbeat vibe. At the north end of Orange Ave, check out Centennial Park and the sublime views of San Diego.
Coronado Island is actually an isthmus, and one of the most enjoyable parts of visiting here is a drive over the beautiful, sleek San Diego-Coronado Bridge with views of the downtown skyline.
There is a slight jet fuel smell at the beach- I'm not sure if it comes from the military base or the airport.
