Sail Bay boardwalk and cafes, Pacific Beach
The best find in the Pacific Beach area is the lagoon at Sail Bay. Here, families gather on the huge lawns or the white sand beach and hang out. Kids run free in the huge expansive spaces. It is a lovely scene. For a wonderful evening, sit outside under tiki torches or beside a fire pit at Moray's in Catamaran Resort Hotel and have a sushi roll. The views of the lagoon are wonderful. The best day to come is Wednesday 6-9pm when there is a musician with a wonderful voice. Thursdays 6-9pm there is also upbeat live music. Walk through the hotel to check out the Polynesian architecture and waterfall. You can park at the hotel and get your ticket validated at the restaurant. You just pull in, drive through the entry gate on the left, and park, bringing your ticket with you.
After your meal, walk the long Bayside Walk, around the lagoon. It goes for 12 miles so you can walk as long as you want!
You can also walk a few blocks to Pacific Beach Boardwalk from Moray's, but the lagoon is nicer.
A good find is Better Buzz Coffee Pacific Beach Grand (it is one of three branches in Pacific Beach), which has a cute interior and a narrow rooftop area with views of the sea. You can walk there- it is an eleven minute walk north of the lagoon.
In the morning, go for a walk at Kate Sessions Park. It has a loop walk with views over the city, plus a canyon hike with wildflowers galore in spring.

Better Buzz Coffee Pacific Beach Grand is located at 822 Grand Ave, San Diego, CA 92109. There is parking but you can only stay for one hour.
Moray's (next to Oceana Coastal Kitchen) in Catamaran Resort Hotel is located at 3999 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA 92109. There is free parking. Pull into the hotel entrance, drive to the left, grab a ticket and the entry barrier will open, then park. Bring your ticket with you to the restaurant for validation.
