Sinsheimer Park is like a modern version of Monterey's Dennis the Menace Park. Your kids will never forget this place if you visit! It is a large park with under an arc of steep hillside. On the hillside is a playground with three huge tunnel slides- incredible! Along another side of the hill are two side-by-side super steep long slides! And there's a steep artificial grass slope where kids slide down on cardboard boxes for hours! Another popular area is the zipline cable. Kids like up for a go. Careful if you sit on this one because it can pinch your thigh.

A colorful lion drinking fountain, sand volleyball court, little kid playground, baby swings, snowboard seesaw, rock-climbing area, and beautiful plush trees round out the offerings at this park. You can sit under the trees in the plentiful shade and have a picnic, then walk the little path that runs behind the tennis courts, past fragrant eucalyptus trees. The Railroad Bike Path runs past Sinsheimer Park.
If you stay in SLO with kids, for sure you'll spend most of your vacation at this park! Have fun!
If you need food for your picnic at this park, get takeout from Nucci's on Broad Pizza (closed weekends), just four minutes away.
After, have a delicious acai bowl or smoothie at Neighborhood Acai at SLO Public Market, a nine minute drive away. Or a coffee at KBRG Coffee Lab or bagel at Bunker Coffee, a three minute drive away, in the hip Orcutt Rd area. If you don't mind the smell of the downtown with a homeless problem, you could have a milkshake at Scout Coffee, in downtown SLO.
