Seabranch Preserve State Park has a very wide cement path through lovely white-sand forest! There are plenty of interesting things to see, not just pine trees. There are little plants budding in the white sand, flowers, and trees and scrubs of all sorts. We also saw a bunny rabbit! The path is very wide, allowing cyclists to pass people easily. There is quite a lot of shade on the path if you come in the morning. On weekends there are a few people walking, but on weekdays it is mostly empty. If you begin the path in the north, you start at Seabranch Preserve State Park. If you begin in the south, you start at Gomez Preserve Nature Trail, which is at the northern dead end of SE Gomez Ave. This path is exactly two miles one way.
There are also sandy paths that veer off from the cement path that you can explore if you don't mind spiderwebs. Gomez Preserve Nature Trail, where this walk begins if you start in the south, has a tiny U-shaped trail that is packed dirt, and there are workout stations along it, not used much. It is very shady at Gomez Preserve!
If you want to extend your walk, you can follow the sidewalk on SE Gomez Ave to Peck Lake Park, where you can enjoy a view of the intracoastal from a huge gazebo.
The sand at Seabranch Preserve State Park is so gorgeous! It is quartz, a fine ancient sand from the Appalachian mountains that glistens in the sun.
There is an unpaved trail on the white sand which starts at the restrooms. There are lovely beautyberry plants at the start, then a wide expanse of sand, then a narrow trail with yellow wildflowers and shade. This path loops for a long time but we turned back after half an hour. We even saw prickly pear cactus! Ignore the "exit" sign when you return because it leads to the right when you should go straight. This path is a lovely hike! Don't come first thing in the morning or you'll be the one getting all the spiderwebs!
When you stand where the walking paths begin, turn right for the wide cement path. If you turn left you will get a more narrow path that is used less and is white sand.
At the parking lot there is a Veterans building with a restaurant inside and a cannon outside. They have a fish fry on Fridays 4:30-7, Sunday brunches, Taco Tuesdays with pool tournaments, and fundraisers with live music on other nights (check their facebook page).
There are many places to eat in Hobe Sound town or Port Salerno town nearby. The preserve is between these two towns.
Seabranch Preserve State Park is located at 6093 SE Dixie Hwy, Stuart, FL 34997. There is a parking lot with a Veterans building in the distance. At the entrance to the trails, turn right for the wide cement path.
