Del Mar Highlands Town Center
Del Mar Highlands Town Center is a shopping center with many different areas! At first it looks quite plain with its drab colors but there is lots to explore here. Firstly, there are many counter service cafes where you can have lunch, with cute modern interiors, such as Mendocinos Farms. A giant sculpture of a breaching whale above a fountain adds magic for kids. There are some fun little stops like Happy Lemon boba tea, Geppetto's Toy Store, Philz Coffee where a young crowd hangs out under outdoor heat lamps, and Tilly's Clothing. On the far north end, lower level, is an in-ground trampoline that little kids like. Beside it, take the escalators up to a huge public space with couches, glass dividers, and flower pots. This is an attractive area to hang out! On the far south end is a public market full of different eateries, in a very dark space with strung lights- here it is night all day long! Above the public market is the Sky Deck, with a fire pit on the second level and a bar with view of fir tree tops on the third level. You can take your food from the public market and eat it up there.
It is incredibly busy at this shopping center, especially on weekends and weekday afternoons. Just a constant stream of people coming out of nowhere! It makes you realize how overcrowded the world is becoming.
Across the street, kids can play at the Solana Pacific Elementary School playground, on weekends and after school. It is a space-age playground with a walking path around a huge lawn.
Nearby, check out another shopping center that is quite amazing, One Paseo Plaza. It also has many areas, and some very beautiful. It has a huge fake tree log for kids to climb, a fire pit that is just lovely at night, Shack Shack, and a shop called Urban Beach House.
After, have a walk at Seagrove Park, over the sea. It is a nine minute drive away.

Del Mar Highlands Town Center is located at 12841 El Camino Real, San Diego, CA 92130. There is a huge parking lot in front of the shopping center, plus more parking upstairs. Parking is free.
