Sea Cliff Coastal Trail is a fantastic trail on vertical cliffs above the sea! Here you are on top of the world! The trail is hard-packed dirt. A train goes by quite often, adding to the fun. The trail goes from just south of 4th Street north all the way to Seagrove Park, for 1.25 kilometers. Seagrove Park is a glorious place to end your walk, with cypress trees and benches with views of surfers riding the waves.

After, have a chocolate croissant on the raised patio at Darshan French Bakery, on 9th Street and Camino Del Mar, two blocks back from the trail. Camino Del Mar is a cute main strip with cafes and shops stretching from 9th Street to 16th Street.
Del Mar Plaza is a stunning upscale plaza on the hill, two blocks back from the Seagrove Park, with a public patio with sun umbrellas overlooking the ocean, and cafes. It also has a very nice, small children's museum.
If it's too foggy at the coast, go seven minute's drive inland to One Paseo Plaza, where you will find some sun, but still a cool breeze.
Here are all the places you can explore if you spend a weekend in Del Mar and Encinitas.

A beautiful house on the cliff.

Headland and sea.

Honeycomb cliffs.

Train tracks below. Sea lavender is not the greatest plant for this current climate because it looks dead much of the time.

I love these flowers! Yellow in the center and white around the edges. Perfection.

Flowers that need more rain!

Gentle ocean waves below.

The path is hard-packed sand.

Cypress tree.

Black flowers are amazing!

Darshan French Bakery is a nice place to sit.

Lovely views from Darshan French Bakery.
