Cypress Grove Park is a beautiful park in a suburb of South Orlando. Despite its location near a crime-ridden road, OBT (Orange Blossom Trail), this park is wonderful! It is located on a large lake with water lilies and a dock with a gazebo. Along the lake are incredible cypress trees reaching to the sky, strung with endless amounts of Spanish moss! There are winding paths past fields and cypress groves. A large charming gazebo next to a field makes for a good gathering spot for parties. A smaller gazebo would be a lovely wedding spot. There is a playground near the lake with a toddler structure, rope climbey like an upside down pyramid, four swings, a monkey bar spinner, a cable for swinging along, and a big kid structure. As you walk the path you pass the 1920s mansion, a white house that looks out on the lake. The entry road into Cypress Grove Park must have been their driveway, rows of large trees forming a canopy.
Because of its location, come with a friend so you feel safe.
After, drive seven minutes north on Orange Ave, for a chocolate croissant and cup of tea at Einstein Bros. Bagels. Despite its location along a busy road, it's a pleasant place for a snack. If you don't mind a longer drive, 15 minutes north is Benjamin French Bakery, a great spot near Lake Eola.
Another nice place to walk, 12 minutes north of Cypress Grove Park, is Lake Davis. Lake Cherokee, in the same area, is another good neighborhood for walking.
A nice neighborhood to walk is Belle Isle, with a bridge over the lake, and lots of tropical trees. It is 13 minutes drive southeast of Cypress Grove Park.
Cypress Grove Park is located at 290 Holden Ave, Orlando, FL 32839. There is plenty of free parking.
