Calumet Ave beach houses walk
It's fun to walk along Calumet Ave, in the cool Bird Rock neighborhood of La Jolla. Here you can admire the beach houses and their pretty gardens. You come to amazing vista points along the way. Start at La Jolla Hermosa Park, with its pretty views of the coastline to the north. Then walk south along Dolphin Place to Bird Rock Vista Point, where you can watch the funny antics of pelicans and birds fighting over leftover fish. Make your way to Calumet Ave. Stop for a while to sit on the lawn at Calumet Park, and to stand at its cliff listening to the sea pull the pebbles below. Admire the beach houses as you continue to walk along Calumet Ave- some have cool architecture. Take in sweeping vistas from Pacific Beach Point.
After, walk back from the ocean a few blocks and have a smoothie at Seaside Surf Cafe, where you can sit out on their expansive patio and watch people walk by. There are lots of cute cafes along La Jolla Blvd in Bird Rock.
