There are three choices in roads to get across the island.

Breathtaking stops along the way, of vertical cliffs and sparkling blue-green water, a lighthouse (reserve online), redwood gulches, swimming holes, stunning beaches, and New Camaldoli Monastery.
Wooden oceanfront one-mile-long boardwalk lined with scrub and flowers, atop the cliffs. Good views of the coastline. More trails on the hills above.
Lovely place to sit with views of the vineyards and the morro called Islay Hill.
Italian restaurant with delicious gelato, independent bookstore, and excellent French bakery, plus castle tower and view of the mountains.
