At Iao Valley State Park, the upper path takes you to views of Iao Needle, and the lower path takes you to a magical area by the stream with boulders and large tropical trees. Reservation required.

It's wonderful to walk along the oceanfront watching the waves crash against the boardwalk, in a parklike setting also called San Souci State Recreational Park.
