Honoli'i Beach Park, Hilo

Honoli'i (Honolii) Beach Park has a beautiful headland, tropical vegetation, and a popular surfbreak. It is the main surfing beach in Hilo on the Big Island. 

Sandy Beach

A gorgeous and happening beach. It has a dangerous shorebreak, for bodysurfing and bodyboarding.

Haleiwa Alii Beach, North Shore

Great beach to learn to surf or for intermediate surfers- especially popular with kids on the North Shore.

Pipeline (Ehukai) Beach, North Shore

Beautiful yellow-sanded beach with LOTS of sand and huge waves in winter. At the end of January, you can watch the WSL surf contest here!

Waikiki Wall jetty with gazebo

A jetty with a gazebo on the end, in the heart of Waikiki Beach. A popular bodyboarding and snorkeling spot where the reef is inches from your knees!

During summer, the south swells at Bowls are fun!

Makapuu Beach

Drive to Makapuu (Makapu'u) Beach and you'll be stunned by the view! Bodyboarders love the waves here. 

Baby Makapuu Beach

A great place to learn to surf! Plus sparkling shallow tide pools for little kids.

Waimea Bay, North Shore

Freak waves can happen at this beach, taking you by surprise. Also, the Eddie Aikau contest is held here if the winter waves become enormous.

Sunset Beach, North Shore

Huge winter waves happen at this beach on the North Shore!

Duke Kahanamoku Statue Beach, Waikiki

You can rent a longboard here and learn to surf! Also, stand under a webcam by the Duke statue and wave to family back home!

Diamond Head Road Overlooks

Surfers love the waves below these overlooks. 

Makaha Beach

Popular beach with good winter surfing, and a lifeguard. It is all the way on the west side of Oahu.

Doris Duke Beach and Rock Walls

Official name: Ka'alawai Beach. Out by the reef you can learn to surf or longboard.

La'ie Point Sea Arch

La'ie (Laie) Point Sea Arch is a stunning area you must see! Bodyboarders and bodysurfers like the winter shorebreak at Pounders Beach. 

Malaekahana Beach

Remote, rugged beach, popular with kite surfers because it is very windy.

Waimanalo Beach

Long, white sand beach with lots of shade and aquamarine waters. Best beginner bodyboarding spot.

Turtle Bay Resort Beach, North Shore

There are several surfbreaks along this stretch of beach.

Yokohama Bay, Makaha

Beautiful beach in the countryside on west Oahu backed by high mountains. For advanced surfers. 

Makua Beach, Makaha

A good wave, with amazing mountain views. Surf can get big in winter. This beach is all the way on the west side of Oahu. 

Mokuleia Beach, North Shore

Incredible high mountains rise above this pretty beach, popular with kite surfers. 

Pua'ena Point Beach Park, Haleiwa

Pua'ena (Puaena) Point Beach Park is a lovely secluded cove with lots of shade and cool breezes. Popular with longboarders on the inside, and experienced surfers on the outside.
